Dan Brown's Digital Fortress

I'm sure all Dan Brown's fans have read his "Digital Fortress", and find it crappy compared to "Da Vinci Code" or "Angels & Demons". But for those who manged to finish the book, you must have wondered what the code at the end of the book means. I'm not sure if others are as determined as me to break that code and find out what its about, but I glad to say I've broke it.

As seen on the last page of the book, the code stands in the middle of the last page...

128-10-93-85-10-128-98-112-6-6-25-126-39-1-68-78

at first look, I could tell the numbers were either referring to the chapters of the book or the page number, but what I'm sure is that each number represents an alphabet. Hence my initial guess was the first letter of the first word of every referred chapter. I wrote it on the back of my fullscap pad and this is what it showed...

W-E-C-G-E-W-H-Y-A-A-I-O-R-T-N-U

What the fuck?? That is a load of rubbish.. but it suddenly struck me that at the end of the book, the code that was used to stop the "Digital Fortress" was that of a simpe type of code, the Caesar Box! so i counted the number of letters in the code and it turns out to be 16! A perfect square! just like a Caesar Box! To decipher the message, simply divide the code into four groups of four, and rearrange them vertically like this..

WECG
EWHY
AAIO
RTNU

and this is what it reads...

"WE ARE WATCHING YOU"

Immediately, it send chills down my spine... but I'm glad to break the code, very satisfying when it's finally deciphered. For more of these code breaking games, visit www.danbrown.com, but you must first read the book, else it wouldn't be fun...

Eve of Christmas

although christmas has never been a great part of my life, this year is the only time i felt like celebrating it.. unfortunately, got no one to celebrate it with, so i decided to run all my errands before the holiday weekend starts.. cos everywhere should be closed until tuesday..

firstly, i went to buy all my groceries, supermarket was packed with people getting their last minute christmas preparations.. yeah! i bought fish!!! been awhile since i had cooked fish at home.. asked my collegue about the kinda fishes she buys, and she said Basa is so far the cheapest and tastes well.. best thing is that it doesnt have much of the fishy smell compared to the rest..

next, i went to have a haircut.. TopImage was empty when i got there, guess everyone's in the holiday mood.. andrew said his workers when for a break since there isnt many customers around.. i decided to have a change of hairstyle, so i told andrew i wanted to keep the hair at the back.. turns out to be sort of similar like felix's.. boring..

then i went bunnings, to buy the sprinklers the mr. browne chewed up.. before i was entering, i saw this old lady sitting in front, asking for donations for the salvation army.. there was one outside winthrop too, but i was working so i din have the change to donate. but anyway, today i gave $10! i think this was the most amount of money i've ever donated in my life.. "Thank you, God bless you! Have a merry christmas!", she said. i was truely happy to hear that, though i'm gonna have to spend my christmas alone, at least my $10 can help some other people have a better christmas than me.

quite sad hor? i'm hoping i dun have to spend new year alone too...

1 week without my laptop

yup, it's been one week.. those stupid technicians are working so slow.. no computer, nothing to do, plus alone somemore.. damn boring sia.. over the past week, i've been to the casino ALONE, watched "King Kong" ALONE, went swimming ALONE, gym ALONE, was thinking of even going to eat Hog's Breath ALONE.. and here i was thinking that that i could spend some quality time alone, do whatever things i wanna do, and now i'm complaining about life in solitude.. haiz.. what to do? it's ok to stay alone, but without my computer, i'm crippled.. all i can do all day is to watch the television, DVDs.. sibei boring la.. can't wait for Jill's return.. latest news is that she might come back on the 29th of Dec, which is 10 days from now.. woot!

just called the stupid agent to ask for the address for the place we wanted to rent, then she like talking to alien like that, machiam i dun understand english, but the fact is that she doesnt understand what i'm trying to say.. so it's not me, it her.. anyway, just heard from her that there's a total of 5 applications for the day, including mine.. haiz, looks like chances of getting the place is slim.. unless we're very lucky.. i tot by raising the rent by $5 per week would be a smart move to make the owner hold the place for a month for us, but after some calculations, it would not be worth it for him to do so.. cos the additional $5 would only give him at most $242 extra, while losing the month's rent of $680.. so, it's either we're very lucky, or he's dumb.. let's pray on the 2nd option..

anyway, i called the repair center, and the guy said my notebook is with the technician and he would be giving a call once it's ready this afternoon. so there i was, hoping to get by my com by today, cos tuesday i would be working and i jus recieved a call from my boss asking me to work on wednesday as well.. haiz.. so if its not today, it would be thursday untill i can see my laptop again.. damn!

4 days since you left..

though it's only been 4 days, it seems like a long time to me. maybe it's because we havent been seperated for more than a week, that's why now is such a difficult time for us. call me carzy if u wan, but sometimes i go into ur room just to smell your scent, and i just realised last night that ur boaster also had the "clean" smell u always liked. why are humans so cheebye? we never treasure the people ard us until they're not ard. we take then for granted. even when we tell ourselves to take then more seriously the next time, as time passes, it'll all be the same.. i'm not saying i dun cherish the times when we're together, just that not as much when we're not.

well, i've got at least 26 days to go before i see u again, so i'll make full use of this time to lose weight, train up my magic skills, pack the house and so on. to think that i'll be spending christmas and new year alone.. well, colin finds it sad, but i dun. both days are just normal days to me, it's just a special excuse to hang out wif family and friends.. furthermore, i dun have the practise of celebrating christmas. i noe this holiday meant alot for my Galwiser, sorry that i cant be back to celebrate it wif u. i hope the Perth-ians have a great time back home, update ur blogs wif many pictures to entertain ur lonely friend...

i miss u baby. it feels weird not to have u pester me.
